Contains the following type of material: photographs. Covers the following wars: World War I (WWI), World War II (WWII). General description of the collection: The George S. Patton, Jr. photograph collection consists of photos from Patton's World War I service with the Tank Corps to his funeral, December 24, 1945. Included are photos of Patton at the United States (U.S.) Army War College in 1932, his services as commanding officer of the 2nd Armored Division, June to November 1941; commanding officer of the Desert Training Center in 1942 and various aspects of his WWII services in Europe, 1943-1945. There is a small assortment of portrait photos of Patton at various ranks. A more extensive George S. Patton, Jr. photograph collection may be found with his materials at the Cavalry and Armor Museum at Fort Knox, Kentucky.

George Smith Patton Jr. (November 11, 1885 – December 21, 1945) was a general of the United States Army who commanded the Seventh United States Army in the Mediterranean theater of World War II, and the United States Army Central in France and Germany after the Allied invasion of Normandy in June 1944.
